2nd day of Chinese New Year. I was woken by a hysterical mother grabbing my arm. Bees, bees! she exclaimed. The whole family trooped one by one in a drunken stupor into the kitchen to be greeted by a clump of bees nestling on a slit of a about-to-give-way cabinet door.
Called in the exterminator who was stunned that the entire cabinet was filled with a growing bee nest. One hour later the matter was laid to rest, albeit with a mess to clean up. Thank goodness that:
1. The mom didn't swat more "flies" in the early morning as she was making her way round the kitchen without her glasses on, and
2. It's the second day of Chinese New Year so cleaning of the house isn't a taboo matter.
Now for the rest of the day. Tons of house visits, and it's only 9 in the morning. I already feel exhausted.
